Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, met with Pakistan's Minister of Petroleum, Dr. Musaddiq Malik, in Islamabad on Thursday and extended an invitation for him to visit Turkmenistan.

The Ministry of Information of Pakistan reported that Dr. Malik graciously accepted the invitation.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed prospects for energy cooperation between their countries, particularly the implementation of the strategically important TAPI gas pipeline. Dr. Malik expressed appreciation for Turkmenistan's consistent support in advancing this significant project, which aims to address Pakistan's energy supply challenges.

Ambassador Movlamov commended the economic achievements of the Pakistani government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and highlighted the growing attractiveness of Pakistan for international investors.

The TAPI project, which entered an active phase in 2010, involves constructing a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India, ensuring stable energy supplies for the region.
