Turkmenistan will host large-scale New Year celebrations in December, featuring the lighting of the main New Year tree, festive concerts, and cultural programs, as reported by official media of Turkmenistan.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahrijemal Mammedova updated officials on preparations during a recent online Cabinet meeting on Friday.
The main festivities will begin on December 15 with the lighting of the main New Year tree. Concerts featuring artists and cultural groups will take place in Ashgabat at Ylham Park, in front of the State Circus, at the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Center, and at the Arkadagyň Binasy monument in Arkadag. Regional performances will occur outside the Türkmeniň ak öýi buildings.
The program will also include a New Year telebridge connecting Ashgabat, the velayats, and Arkadag city, along with a fireworks display.
Deputy Prime Minister Baymyrat Annamammedov reported on the work to decorate the capital for the holidays, including installing New Year trees in cultural centers and parks and adorning avenues and public spaces.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov directed officials to organize the celebrations at a high level and create a festive atmosphere for residents and visitors. The presented proposals received approval, and relevant ministries received specific instructions.
The Cabinet meeting also addressed several state policy issues.
