Turkmenistan Participates in Central Asia–China Foreign Ministers' Meeting

The Turkmen delegation, led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, participated in the fifth meeting of the Central Asia–China format of foreign ministers, which took place in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, participants highlighted the importance of the Central Asia–China format for activating partnership efforts aimed at strengthening cooperation among the countries in the region.

In a narrower format, the heads of foreign affairs agencies from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and China discussed key areas of interaction, focusing on the development of political ties, business cooperation, trade, as well as ensuring energy and transport connectivity. They also discussed preparations for the second summit within this format.

During the expanded session, participants emphasized the need to consolidate efforts to ensure peace and stability, along with expanding humanitarian contacts.

The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan emphasized that a culture of dialogue based on mutual respect serves as a solid foundation for building trust and peace among nations.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a joint statement outlining the prospects for further cooperation within the Central Asia–China format.
