President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed deep condolences to Choi Sang-mok, the acting President of South Korea, following the crash of a passenger plane from Jeju Air that resulted in numerous casualties and injuries.
On behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan, as well as personally, the head of state conveyed heartfelt sympathy and support to the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time, along with wishes for a swift recovery to the injured.
The tragedy occurred on Sunday when a Boeing 737-800 passenger plane, traveling from Bangkok, made an emergency landing without landing gear at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province, 288 kilometers southwest of Seoul.
The accident, which was accompanied by an explosion, resulted in 179 fatalities. Among the passengers were 179 South Korean citizens and two Thai nationals. Only two individuals survived. South Korean authorities reported the incident, as conveyed by Yonhap news agency.
