Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, held a phone call with Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, on Thursday. During their conversation, he confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness for further cooperation and support for proposals and initiatives aimed at expanding the strategic partnership with fraternal Uzbekistan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial relations with Uzbekistan, describing it as a vital aspect of the state’s foreign policy. They both expressed satisfaction with the recent progress in bilateral cooperation, noting that it has reached a qualitatively new level.

They discussed the extensive range of fields covered by their partnership and acknowledged the significant untapped potential for further collaboration. Special attention was given to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

During the call, it was highlighted that Uzbekistan has been hosting various cultural events in honor of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi, reinforcing the shared historical roots of their cultures.

Mirziyoyev also conveyed best wishes to Presiden of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The National Leader of the Turkmen People reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the strategic partnership with Uzbekistan. They concluded by wishing each other health and success in their state responsibilities.
