As part of the launch of the International Year of Peace and Trust, proclaimed at Turkmenistan's initiative, the country's embassy in Belgium actively collaborates with European partners to promote its concept of declaring 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust.

This initiative reflects Turkmenistan's commitment to advancing the principles of peace, stability, and international cooperation, as reported by the Turkmenistan Embassy in Belgium.

A significant event in this direction featured Derya Soysal, a member of the Belgian Diplomatic World Institute and an expert on environmental issues and Central Asia. With the embassy's support, she recorded a video for platforms like Eureporter, focusing on the 2025 initiative. In her speech, Soysal emphasized that Turkmenistan has remained committed to neutrality and peacekeeping since gaining independence in 1991, actively promoting regional stability through international initiatives.

In collaboration with the embassy, Derya Soysal also spoke at an online conference organized by the European Union in partnership with the Free University of Brussels and Kocaeli University. At the event titled 'Balance of Power and Europe: The Role of the European Union in Global Politics,' she presented a report on Turkmenistan's strategic role in the energy sector. Soysal noted the growing European interest in Turkmen gas and highlighted the prospects for strengthening energy partnerships between the parties.

Earlier, Brussels hosted the 23rd Joint Committee meeting between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
