Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov spoke by phone with Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu on Thursday to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The ministers discussed a variety of topics, including political-diplomatic relations, trade-economic ties, and cultural-humanitarian initiatives, as reported by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan.

They also exchanged views on key areas of the international agenda and emphasized the importance of collaboration within regional and international frameworks.

Last year, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed several agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in transportation, economics, and culture, with key documents that included provisions for mutual investment protection, a strategic partnership program for 2025-2027, and memorandums on digitalization, sports, agriculture, and the gas industry.

This initiative culminated in a Declaration on Strengthening Friendship and Deepening Multidimensional Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
