Turkmenistan prepares to join the electronic permits system of the Turkic States Organization (TSO), marking an important step toward deepening regional integration among the countries in the region. The Secretary-General of the organization, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, announced this at the 10th meeting of the heads of customs services of the member states held in Baku on Thursday, as reported by the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The Secretary-General noted that last year, two key associations were established: the Union of Associations of International Road Carriers in the Turkic Region, known as YURTA, and the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Freight Carriers of Turkic States. These initiatives aim to simplify trade processes among the countries.

Omuraliev emphasized that addressing important issues such as rising transportation costs and complexities in customs procedures is essential for ensuring the economic stability of the region. Under the strategic plan Vision of the Turkic World – 2040, the TSO actively works to streamline trade and customs processes along the Middle Corridor.

The Turkic States Organization is an intergovernmental bloc created to expand cooperation among Turkic-speaking countries in the areas of politics, economy, science, education, transportation, and tourism.

The organization includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan as members. Hungary, Turkmenistan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participate as observer members.
