Iran's ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, and the governor of Khorasan-Razavi province, Golamhossein Mozaffari, discussed the prospects for developing border cooperation between Turkmenistan and Iran. They met at the governor's office in Khorasan-Razavi on January 19, according to a report from the Turkmenistan Railways press service on Monday.

They discussed the prospects of collaboration, with Rouzbehani noting that the border crossings of Khorasan-Razavi serve as key gateways between the two countries and possess the greatest potential for development.

Governor Golamhossein Mozaffari emphasized the necessity of modernizing the border crossing Sarahs for simplifying the movement of entrepreneurs and trade representatives. He also highlighted the importance of implementing a unified management system at the region's border points.

During the meeting, Ambassador Rouzbehani expressed the intention to develop a new chapter in relations between the two countries and that Turkmenistan represents one of the promising markets for Iran.

Passing through the districts of Kuchan, Dargaz, Kelat, Serahs, and Salehabad, the total length of the joint border between Turkmenistan and Khorasan-Razavi province is 532 kilometers.
