The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Principality of Monaco on Monday, where he met with Prince Albert II, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media on Tuesday.

During the visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived at the Prince's Palace, where an official reception ceremony took place. In the "Honor Guard" hall, photographs were taken with Prince Albert II and Princess Stéphanie. The sides then discussed key aspects of cooperation, including humanitarian projects, culture, sports, and tourism.

They paid special attention to circus arts, particularly the participation of the Turkmen group Galkynyş in the International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. This group won the Gold Award, showcasing the high level of Turkmen circus mastery.

The negotiations also covered environmental initiatives, including potential collaboration on climate issues. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the opportunity for partnership between the Princess Grace Foundation and the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Another important area of cooperation between the Principality of Monaco and Turkmenistan is space. Ten years ago, Monaco provided an orbital position for the launch of the TürkmenÄlem 52oE satellite. Noting that the target agreement expires in 2030, the National Leader confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to discuss the prospects for continued bilateral engagement.

Wishing everyone success, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, departed from the event.

Turkmenistan and Monaco established diplomatic relations in 2015. This year marks the tenth anniversary of these ties, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. During this time, Monaco has supported Turkmenistan's initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development, presented on the UN platform.
