Ambassador of Turkmenistan to France, Maksat Charyyev, met with Marie-Catherine Caruso-Ravera, Monaco’s Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations, on January 29, 2025, to discuss and strengthen key areas of bilateral cooperation, focusing on sport and charity, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France.
The discussions centered on collaboration through the Peace and Sport Foundation, with both sides exploring upcoming events and potential joint initiatives. They reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in charity, social support, and children’s programs. A key topic was the potential for partnerships between Turkmenistan’s Charitable Fund for the Assistance of Children in Need of Care, named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Monaco’s Princess Grace and Prince Albert II foundations.
The meeting highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan’s relations with Monaco, particularly following the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the participation of the Turkmen equestrian group Galkynysh in the 47th International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo.
The meeting reinforced the ongoing constructive dialogue and high-level cooperation between Turkmenistan and Monaco.
Maksat Charyyev also met with Joël Bouzou, President of Peace and Sport, the day before to explore the possibility of hosting an international forum of the organization in Turkmenistan.
