EU, Central Asia Discuss Cooperation Plans for 2025 in Brussels

Ambassadors of Central Asian countries and Mongolia met in Brussels, Belgium, with the Chair of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, David McAllister, to discuss key events planned for 2025 on Monday, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium.

The talks focused on organizing the 6th Meeting of EU and Central Asia Special Representatives on Afghanistan, the 20th EU-Central Asia Ministerial Conference, and the EU-Central Asia Summit, which will take place in the spring in Uzbekistan.

McAllister highlighted Central Asia’s strategic significance in international politics and expressed the European Parliament’s readiness to expand cooperation with the region’s parliaments.

Participants emphasized the importance of the "Central Asia – 2040" initiative and the Roadmap for 2025–2027, as well as the effectiveness of the "CA+" formats, which contribute to strengthening engagement between the region and the European Union.
