The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, on Wednesday during a working visit to Tehran, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Meredov for the greetings and highlighted the importance of the phone conversation that took place on February 10 with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during which they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation.
The President of Iran expressed readiness to strengthen collaboration with Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, transportation, and water resource management.
The parties also emphasized the importance of joint activities within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
On the same day, Rashid Meredov met with the Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Asad Majid Khan, during his working visit to Tehran.
