The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with the Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (OEC), Asad Majid Khan, during his working visit to Tehran on Wednesday. They discussed cooperation in the transport sector and cross-border trade, as well as ways to further develop the partnership between Turkmenistan and the OEC.
Meredov emphasized the importance of effective interaction with the organization. He highlighted the significance of the Framework Agreement on Transport and Transit and the OEC Trade Agreement, which serves as the foundation for future steps in these areas, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
They also focused on joint seminars and training sessions that could strengthen partnership relations. The Secretary-General proposed holding sustainable development events in Turkmenistan in the first half of 2025.
In conclusion, both sides expressed confidence in further strengthening constructive dialogue and advancing bilateral cooperation.
