Turkish companies secured contracts worth $216 million in Turkmenistan in 2024, Ambassador of Türkiye to Turkmenistan Ahmet Demirok announced at a press conference in his residence on Wednesday.
Currently, 25 projects valued at $4 billion continue to progress in the country with the involvement of Turkish businesses, the diplomat noted.
The ambassador also expressed hope that Turkish companies would participate in the second phase of the Smart City Arkadag construction.
Since gaining independence, Turkish companies have successfully completed over 1,000 projects in Turkmenistan, totaling more than $50 billion. According to Demirok, this reflects the high level of trust that Turkmenistan places in its Turkish partners.
In 2024, the volume of bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and Türkiye reached $2.166 billion.
