Turkmen Delegation Discusses New Cooperation Opportunities With Japanese Agency NEXI

The Turkmen delegation, headed by the Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activities, Rahimberdi Jepbarov, met with the Chairman of the Japan Export-Import Insurance Agency (NEXI), Atsuo Kuroda, during their visit to Tokyo from February 17 to 19, 2025. They discussed prospects for cooperation, including NEXI’s role in attracting financial institutions for implementing projects in Turkmenistan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen delegation also held talks with Japan's Vice Minister of Economy, Trade, and Infrastructure, Takahiro Matsuo. The parties focused on expanding industrial cooperation, emphasizing the importance of integrating Japanese technologies into Turkmen projects.

Additionally, representatives from Turkmenistan met with executives from major Japanese companies such as Itochu Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

NEXI had previously expressed its readiness to participate in implementing projects in Turkmenistan.
