Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, met with a delegation from Euronews, led by Chairman of the Board of Directors Pedro Vargas David, on Thursday in Ashgabat. During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of accrediting Euronews journalists in Turkmenistan and opening a correspondent office in Ashgabat.
The sides highlighted their successful cooperation and expressed readiness to develop their partnership on a systematic basis, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The participants discussed new formats for interaction aimed at raising global awareness of Turkmenistan’s potential in areas such as culture, sports, tourism, ecology, transportation, and green energy.
The meeting participants gave special attention to international events that Turkmenistan plans to hold this year, which Turkmenistan declared the "International Year of Peace and Trust" under a UN General Assembly Resolution.
During the talks, the sides discussed the possibility of creating new forms of cooperation, including professional development programs for Turkmen journalists and deepening collaboration with local TV channels.
