Turkmenistan Ready to Consider World Bank Proposals for Transport Corridors

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani in Ashgabat on Friday. During the talks, the head of state noted that Turkmenistan is actively working on forming regional and international multimodal transport corridors North-South and East-West and expressed readiness to consider specific proposals from the World Bank for their development.

The meeting highlighted that the country's cooperation with the World Bank focuses on implementing digital technologies, developing the private sector, and ensuring environmental sustainability. Additionally, active work is underway to improve macroeconomic policies and expand investment opportunities, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan and the World Bank are jointly implementing several major projects aimed at modernizing infrastructure and improving the quality of life for the population. Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that expanding cooperation with international financial institutions is crucial for further economic growth.

The head of state also focused on the introduction of advanced technologies into the economy and the activation of financial and consulting services for small and medium-sized businesses.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their intention to continue developing mutually beneficial partnerships. The President of Turkmenistan wished Antonella Bassani success in her work.
