National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to participate in the International Forum on Peace and Trust during a phone conversation. The forum, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, is set to take place on December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
During the conversation, both sides exchanged congratulations on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan and wished prosperity to their nations. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that preparations for the forum are being carried out at a high level in cooperation with neighboring countries and international organizations and noted that the Qatari emir’s participation would contribute to the success of the event.
National Leader of the Turkmen People highlighted prospects for cooperation in the oil and gas sector, industry, investments, transport, and trade, expressing confidence in the successful implementation of joint projects. He also underscored the importance of strengthening ties with Qatar and thanked the emir for his contributions.
For his part, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani acknowledged Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s efforts and conveyed his greetings to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
At the end of the conversation, Berdimuhamedov and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani wished each other good health and success in their state affairs.
