Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Foreign Minister of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili in Ashgabat on Friday. During the talks, they discussed joint activities for 2025, which the UN General Assembly resolution has declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The parties emphasized the importance of high-level contacts for the development of interstate relations, including the current visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, to Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The ministers noted progress in strengthening bilateral cooperation, as well as in international frameworks such as the United Nations. The sides also discussed the prospects of partnership between the foreign ministries of the two countries, including regular consultations at the level of ministers and department heads.
At the end of the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia signed a Cooperation Program for 2025-2026.
