The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia, Orazmuhammet Charyyev, met with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Brahim Taha, in Jeddah on Friday. During their meeting, Chariyev delivered an official invitation letter to the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality on December 12 this year in Ashgabat.
Charyyev presented the letter on behalf of the national leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides also discussed ways to expand cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OIC.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), founded in 1969, unites 57 states and strengthens ties among Muslim countries in political, economic, scientific, and cultural spheres. The organization maintains its headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
