Turkmenistan and Singapore Discuss Organizing High-Level Visits

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, Begench Durdyyev, met on March 12 with Samuel Tan, the Director-General of the Department of the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They primarily discussed organizing high-level visits, political consultations, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and collaboration within international organizations, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting, the Turkmen delegation presented information about upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the declaration of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust." Ambassador Durdyyev also shared Turkmenistan's Concept, which outlines key directions for the country’s activities in this context.

Ambassador of Turkmenistan held talks on March 15 with Yu Sin Tai, the Deputy Director of the Department of Europe and Central Asia at Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry. They discussed strengthening trade and economic ties, particularly attracting Singaporean investments into Turkmenistan's special economic zones.

Participants also explored opportunities for exchanging experience in e-commerce, increasing exports of Turkmen agricultural products, and enhancing cooperation with Singapore’s financial institutions. They focused on signing bilateral agreements and organizing business forums.

On the same day, Durdyyev met with Bernard Lim, the Director-General of the Department of International Relations and Security at Singapore’s Ministry of Transport. They discussed expanding cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, modernizing the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port, shipbuilding, and ship repairs.

They also focused on developing cooperation between the Türkmendeňizderýaýollary Agency and the Caspian Institute of Turkmenistan with relevant Singaporean organizations.
