National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a phone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during which they discussed upcoming international summits, official media of Turkmenistan reported on Wednesday.
At the beginning of the conversation, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged congratulations on the upcoming holiday – Nowruz Bayram. Berdimuhamedov thanked Mirziyoyev for his contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek relations and emphasized Turkmenistan's full support for the Central Asia – European Union and Central Asia – Gulf States summits, as well as the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State.
The parties also discussed the international conference Year of Peace and Trust: Developing International Activity for the Sake of Children, which will be held on March 29 in the city of Arkadag. The National Leader of the Turkmen People thanked the Uzbek delegation for their participation and highlighted the importance of issues related to children's health protection, inclusive education, and social support.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev highly praised Turkmenistan's role in international processes, noting that joint efforts contribute to the sustainable development of Central Asia. At the end of the conversation, the parties wished each other health and success, and peace and prosperity to the peoples of both countries.
