The United States supports the noble and humanitarian work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Elizabeth Rood said Thursday during a meeting with the foundation’s vice president for medical affairs, Oguljahan Atabayeva, in the city of Arkadag.
The ambassador emphasized the US commitment to working together on this initiative, including international cooperation, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
The meeting also covered the foundation’s activities focused on providing medical aid to children in need. Established at the initiative of the chairman of Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty, the charity implements support programs both domestically and abroad.
Rood praised the foundation’s work and its role in strengthening international ties.
Discussions also touched on preparations for the foundation’s fourth anniversary and upcoming international events, as well as prospects for cooperation with global organizations, particularly UNICEF.
Founded in March 2021, the charity actively builds partnerships with similar international organizations. Since its inception, it has provided aid to children affected by natural disasters in various countries and facilitated medical treatment for children in need within Turkmenistan.
