Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov met with the president of the Japan-Turkmenistan Association for Science and Technology Cooperation, Professor Hideomi Koinuma. During the meeting, held on March 25, 2025, in Tokyo, the parties discussed the possibility of signing documents on cooperation in water purification technologies, as reported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
Representatives from the University of Tokyo, Tohoku University, Chiba University, and the Japanese company Tohkemy Corporation also participated in the meeting. The parties discussed strengthening scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries, reviewed the results of 2024, and outlined goals for 2025.
The Japanese side expressed interest in establishing partnerships with higher education institutions in Turkmenistan in the fields of medicine, agriculture, decarbonization, and green technologies.
In the near future, online meetings will be organized between Japanese and Turkmen universities, as well as relevant ministries and departments, to define areas for further cooperation.
