President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held meetings on Thursday with the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bahtiyor Saidov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the 20th meeting of the Central Asia–European Union Foreign Ministers, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
The talks with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan focused on bilateral cooperation, regional collaboration, and preparations for the first Central Asia–European Union summit. Both sides committed to further strengthening partnership ties, emphasizing the importance of trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural exchanges. They also highlighted Turkmenistan's neutral status and joint projects in transport and logistics.
In the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, the main focus was on developing a strategic partnership between the two countries. President Berdimuhamedov praised the high level of bilateral relations, based on good-neighborliness and mutual support in international organizations. They discussed prospects for cooperation in energy, infrastructure, industry, agriculture, and deepening collaboration in science and education.
At the end of the meetings, both sides expressed confidence in further strengthening intergovernmental relations and successfully implementing joint initiatives in bilateral and multilateral formats.
