Turkmenistan Moves Holiday for Oraza Bayram Celebration

President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed a decree "On the Celebration of Oraza Bayram" during the regular online Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday. According to the document, the national holiday of the Turkmen people, Oraza Bayram, will take place on March 30, 2025, and the day off will be moved to Monday, March 31, 2025, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

The head of state signed this decree to further strengthen the unity, harmony, and cohesion of the people in the era of the Revival of the new era of a powerful state, respectful attitude towards centuries-old traditions and customs, as well as the preservation of spiritual wealth. Furthermore, the document was adopted in accordance with Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan.

All institutions, enterprises, and organizations, regardless of ownership, must implement the decree.

Oraza Bayram is one of the main Muslim holidays, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The President of Turkmenistan determines the specific dates for public holidays in observance of Oraza Bayram annually.
