International Conference in Turkmenistan Strengthens Global Cooperation for Children’s Welfare

The city of Arkadag hosted the International Conference "Year of Peace and Trust: Developing International Activities for the Sake of Children" on Saturday. The event, held as part of the celebration of the Year of Peace and Trust, served as a platform for discussing key initiatives for international cooperation in the interests of children, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

The forum highlighted Turkmenistan’s significant achievements in child protection, including the National Action Plan for 2023–2028, a vaccination coverage rate of over 95% among children, salt iodization and flour fortification programs, as well as the successful implementation of inclusive education in the country.

Conference participants particularly noted the work of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation, which marked its fourth anniversary on the same day. The foundation’s efforts to support children in need of care received high praise from UNICEF as a vivid example of Turkmenistan's commitment to helping children in difficult life situations.

On the same day, a ceremonial event was held in the city of Arkadag to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assisting Children in Need of Care.

The event attracted high-ranking guests, including Deputy Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Inna Yuryevna Svyatenko, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan Saida Shavkatovna Mirziyoyeva, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd, Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmaral Sharipbayevna Alnazarova, Minister of Labor, Health, and Social Protection of Georgia Mikheil Sarjveladze, Minister of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, Secretary General of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia Vardanush Grigoryan, and CEO of Askin&Co Med-Lab Ralph Lugbauer.

As part of the celebrations, creative competitions were organized for the children of employees of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations working in Turkmenistan.

Founded in March 2021, the Charitable Foundation has been actively developing partnerships with international organizations of a similar profile. Throughout its existence, the Foundation has provided aid to children affected by natural disasters in various countries and ensured medical treatment for children in need in Turkmenistan.
