Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, Dovletmurat Seyitmammedov, met with the head of the Public Broadcaster of Georgia’s news service, E. Shonia, on April 1 to discuss expanding cooperation in the media sector, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia reported on Tuesday.

The participants noted the positive dynamics of bilateral relations, emphasizing the significance of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s recent visit to Turkmenistan’s capital as a factor contributing to the further strengthening of intergovernmental ties.

The discussion focused on prospects for cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sectors. The Turkmen side shared information about upcoming events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutral status and the designation of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust."

The meeting also covered topics such as increasing the involvement of media from both countries in international forums, expanding media coverage of significant events, and exchanging documentary and video materials.

Both sides expressed confidence that media cooperation would serve as a catalyst for expanding bilateral contacts, enhancing cultural exchange, and strengthening mutual understanding between the two nations.
