President of Turkmenistan Meets With Leaders of Asia, Qatar Olympics

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met on Wednesday in Ashgabat with the Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Hussein Al-Musallam, and the First Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees and President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the meeting, they emphasized that Turkmenistan values the development of sports and physical culture, highlighting that the country is implementing a systematic program to promote a healthy lifestyle and engage the younger generation in sports, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.

The leaders also stressed commitment of Turkmenistan to cooperating with international sports organizations. They highlighted the improvement of sports infrastructure, the creation of optimal conditions for athletes, and the organization of international-level competitions as key areas of the country's sports strategy. International delegates praised Turkmenistan's active role in the global Olympic movement.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the visit would boost sports cooperation, initiate joint projects, and strengthen new partnerships.

At the end of the meeting, the head of state thanked Hussein Al-Musallam and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani for their contributions to expanding the partnership with Turkmenistan and wished them further success in developing the Olympic movement in the Asian region.

On the same day, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.
