The President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed a decree on the appointment of a new deputy minister of internal affairs of the country during a meeting of the State Security Council on Wednesday, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
According to the decree, Lieutenant Colonel of Police Kakalyyev Ovezgeldi Gurbanberdiyevich was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs.
Lieutenant Colonel of Police Atayev Vepaly Durdymuhammedovich, in turn, was relieved of his duties.
The State Security Council meeting addressed issues related to strengthening defense capabilities, ensuring public security, developing the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies, and reviewing their activities for the first quarter of the year.
