Turkmenistan and Moldova Agree on High-Level Contact Schedule

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine, who is also accredited to Moldova, Toyly Atayev, met Thursday in Chișinău with Moldova’s State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergiu Mihov. During the meeting, the sides agreed on a schedule of high-level contacts for the coming year, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine reported.

Talks at Moldova’s foreign ministry focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, trade and economic collaboration, scientific and educational exchanges, humanitarian ties, as well as cultural and tourism partnerships.

The sides paid special attention to intensifying bilateral political consultations and interparliamentary dialogue. They also reached an agreement to hold the next meeting of the Turkmen-Moldovan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, ambassador of Turkmenistan reaffirmed a previously extended invitation for Moldova’s leadership to participate in the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality.

On April 2, 2025, the Turkmen diplomat also met with Valentin Fedorov, head of Moldova’s General Inspectorate for Migration under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, along with other officials.
