Abdullah Eren, Chairman of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), arrived in Ashgabat on Monday for an official visit, as reported by the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan.

During his visit, Eren is scheduled to meet with Turkmenistan's Minister of Culture, Minister of Education, and the heads from five universities. His schedule also includes a visit to the historic city of Merv on Wednesday.

While in Ashgabat, Eren addressed the media regarding the current state of educational cooperation between the two countries.

"Presently, approximately 29,000 students from Turkmenistan are studying in Turkey. In our discussions with Turkmen authorities, we are working to increase this number through interview processes. Under the 'Türkiye Scholarships' program, 100 Turkmen students are currently receiving education in our country. This year, we plan to award scholarships to at least 100 more students," noted the YTB Chairman.

Abdullah Eren, Chairman of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), highlighted that since 1992, Turkey has provided educational scholarships to over 3,000 Turkmen students. He expressed confidence in the continued strengthening of educational cooperation between the two nations.

The YTB is a governmental institution under Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, established to enhance Türkiye’s connections with its diaspora, as well as with ethnically and culturally related communities abroad.
