The United Nations has unanimously adopted a resolution to host the third UN conference for landlocked developing countries (LLDC 3) in Turkmenistan. The event will take place from August 5 to 8, 2025, at the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The decision was made during the 63rd plenary session of the 79th session of the General Assembly, according to the Saturday news program Watan Habarlary.
In connection with this decision, the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, sent a congratulatory letter to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, expressing his congratulations and best wishes.
The letter also emphasized the significance of this decision in strengthening Turkmenistan’s international standing.
It is noteworthy that 32 landlocked developing countries, representing a population of over 500 million, face common challenges related to their geographic location, which impacts their economic connectivity with the rest of the world.
