The State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan and South Korean company Korea Meditech Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday in Seoul. The signing ceremony, held at the Lotte Hotel, was attended by official representatives of both countries, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in South Korea.
On the Korean side, participants included Jung Eun-young, Director General of the Medical Industry Bureau at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, along with representatives from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI).
The MoU reflects the mutual commitment to deepen healthcare collaboration. The joint project, set to be implemented in the city of Arkadag, is expected to be a key milestone in enhancing Turkmenistan’s medical infrastructure.
During the visit, the Turkmen delegation also held separate meetings with South Korean government agencies and business leaders to discuss opportunities for cooperation, particularly in the development of a medical cluster in Arkadag.
On April 18, 2025, a Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baimyrat Annamammedov held a meeting with Yoon Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), in Seoul.
