Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charity Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, Oguljahan Atabayeva, gave an interview to Al-Arabiya TV, where she discussed the fund’s role in supporting the younger generation and the significance of international cooperation, as reported by Turkmenistan's official media on Saturday.

According to Atabaeva, the protection of children’s rights and the creation of conditions for their physical and spiritual development are priorities of Turkmenistan’s national policy. These goals embody the humanitarian values of peace, justice, and humanism. A key component of the fund’s work is its collaboration with international organizations, including UNICEF and the UN Development Programme.

"The fund is steadily developing and actively supports children not only in Turkmenistan but also abroad, playing a significant role in international humanitarian cooperation. We implement long-term UN programs, including the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030, and actively engage with humanitarian organizations around the world," said the Fund's Vice President.

Among the fund's major initiatives are aid for children affected by the earthquake in Türkiýe, as well as the provision of medical equipment, clothing, and food for children in Ukraine, Palestine, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Russia’s Primorsky Krai.

Atabaeva also emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, which allows the country to conduct effective diplomacy and maintain peaceful relations on the international stage. This principle has become the foundation for the nation’s sustainable development and prosperity, contributing to the expansion of cooperation.

Concluding the interview, Atabaeva noted that the fund is actively working on rehabilitating children, providing medical assistance, and creating conditions for their comprehensive development.

Founded in March 2021, the Charitable Foundation has been actively developing partnerships with international organizations of a similar profile. Throughout its existence, the Foundation has provided aid to children affected by natural disasters in various countries and ensured medical treatment for children in need in Turkmenistan.
