Turkmenistan Strengthens Partnerships with ECO, Iran and Kazakhstan

Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held meetings on Monday in the city of Arkadag with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Asad Majid Khan, Iran’s Vice President Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Galymzhan Koishybayev, according to the Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry.

Key topics of discussion included expanding cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, trade, digitalization and culture. Special attention was given to initiatives by Turkmenistan’s President aimed at strengthening the ECO’s role on the international stage. The parties also discussed plans for events dedicated to the Great Silk Road.

The participants expressed mutual interest in enhancing bilateral and multilateral ties and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships.

The meetings were held as part of the First High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development in the ECO region.
