President of Turkmenistan Attends 80th Victory Day Celebrations in Moscow

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in ceremonial events in Moscow commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, according to state news agency of Turkmenistan.

Turkmen leader was seen off by high-ranking officials at Ashgabat International Airport. Upon his arrival at Moscow’s Vnukovo-2 airport, the president Serdar Berdimuhamedov was welcomed by Russian officials.

Later, the Turkmen leader's convoy proceeded to the Kremlin, where he was greeted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two heads of state exchanged a handshake and posed for a joint photograph.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov, along with other invited leaders from CIS countries and beyond, participated in the Victory Parade on Red Square. After the parade, the heads of delegations headed to Alexandrovsky Garden to honor the fallen soldiers. A wreath was laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where President Berdimuhamedov also laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.

The event concluded with a formal march of the Honor Guard and a joint photograph of the delegations' leaders.

Following the ceremony, Serdar Berdimuhamedov returned to Vnukovo-2 airport and flew back to Ashgabat, where he was greeted by official representatives of the country.
