President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Sunday extended his heartfelt congratulations to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the people of Italy on the occasion of the country’s National Day — Republic Day, as reported by Turkmenistan’s state news agency on Monday.
In an official message, President Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan, as well as from himself personally.
Taking the opportunity, the Turkmen leader wished President Mattarella and Prime Minister Meloni good health and personal happiness, and expressed hopes for peace, prosperity and continued progress for the friendly people of the Italian Republic.
Republic Day, celebrated on June 2, marks Italy’s transition to a republic in 1946. Turkmenistan and Italy maintain friendly diplomatic ties, with ongoing cooperation in areas such as trade and energy.
