Local entrepreneurs purchased pharmaceutical and textile products worth 81.9 million manats Wednesday at Turkmenistan’s State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the SCRMET reported.

According to the statement, domestic buyers signed contracts for the purchase of dry licorice root extract produced by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, as well as cotton yarn manufactured by the Ministry of Textile Industry.

Foreign business representatives from Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates also participated in the session, acquiring SN-350 base oil and BND 60/90 road bitumen produced by the Turkmennebit State Concern. In addition, entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan signed deals to purchase textile goods from local suppliers. The total value of these foreign transactions amounted to $947,380.12.

Established in 1994, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange is Turkmenistan’s main body regulating export and import operations.
