Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, met on Monday with Director General of the National Library of Georgia, K. Gamsakhurdia, to discuss the development of cultural ties, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.
The head of Georgia’s largest library briefed the Turkmen diplomat on the institution’s activities, history, and extensive collections, which include rare publications from both private and state archives.
The meeting focused on current issues of Turkmen-Georgian cultural cooperation, with particular emphasis on the role of high-level bilateral visits, including that of the Georgian prime minister to Turkmenistan, in fostering constructive dialogue.
Both sides affirmed their interest in establishing direct contacts between the national libraries of the two countries and implementing joint cultural and educational projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia will continue to develop successfully in a spirit of mutual respect and productive partnership.
