Turkmenistan has facilitated the safe transit of nearly 4,000 foreign nationals returning home from Iran through humanitarian corridors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on Monday.
The initiative comes in response to growing instability in the Middle East, prompting 52 countries to request Turkmenistan’s assistance in repatriating their citizens.
According to the ministry, all requests are being processed swiftly in coordination with foreign diplomatic missions based in Ashgabat. Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts and ensuring safe passage for foreign nationals through its territory.
The move underscores Turkmenistan’s ongoing role in regional humanitarian efforts and reflects its policy of positive neutrality.
