Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atajan Movlamov, met on June 30, 2025, in Islamabad with Sri Lanka’s newly appointed High Commissioner to Pakistan, retired Rear Admiral Fred Senewiratne. During the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in enhancing business contacts and expanding partnership across various sectors.
The diplomats discussed prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the significant potential for advancing ties between the two countries, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Pakistan.
The interlocutors reaffirmed their intention to maintain regular dialogue through existing diplomatic channels and cooperation mechanisms.
Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka established diplomatic relations on May 28, 1992.
