Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in a cultural program held as part of the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), currently taking place in Khankendi, according to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

Alongside the heads of state — President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, and President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar — Meredov visited the historic “Imarat” Architectural and Museum Complex in the city of Aghdam.

The guests were treated to a performance titled “Victory,” featuring Karabakh horses and presented by the cavalry unit of Azerbaijan’s State Border Service. The riders showcased impressive equestrian skills in a show that became a highlight of the cultural program.

Karabakh horses, native to the mountainous regions of the same name, are considered one of the oldest horse breeds in the world. Known for their grace and endurance, they are widely regarded as a national symbol and an integral part of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

Earlier on July 3, President Ilham Aliyev held a bilateral meeting with Rashid Meredov on the sidelines of the ECO Summit. The two officials discussed priority areas of Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan cooperation — including energy, transport, and humanitarian ties — and exchanged views on key regional issues.
