Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met on Friday with Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation, according to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics related to the development of Turkmen–Nigerian relations. Both sides expressed interest in expanding dialogue and identifying areas of mutual benefit.
To further bilateral engagement, Meredov handed the Nigerian side a diplomatic note proposing the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The note was accompanied by a draft of a bilateral agreement, reflecting Turkmenistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Nigeria across political and economic spheres.
