Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the construction of major healthcare facilities in Ashgabat on Saturday during a working visit, according to the Turkmenistan’s official media.
During the tour, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baimyrat Annamammedov briefed Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the progress of construction, including the future hospital complex of the Myrat Garryev State Medical University. After reviewing the presented designs and plans, Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to project implementation, highlighting the need for seismic resistance and high-quality finishing materials.
Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty reminded officials that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with the current organization of work at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry. He stressed the need to actively implement modern digital solutions and expand international cooperation to improve professional qualifications.
During an aerial inspection of the sites in Ashgabat and the second phase of Arkadag City, Berdimuhamedov proposed expanding the university complex infrastructure to include a new Indira Gandhi Medical School, housing for faculty, and a student dormitory—aiming to establish a full-fledged scientific and practical cluster.
