President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, signed a decree establishing the Ministry of Railway Transport, the Ministry of Road Transport, and the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
The Türkmenhowaýollary and Türkmendeňizderýaýollary agencies have been renamed and granted the status of state services — the State Service Türkmenhowaýollary and the State Service for Maritime and River Transport.
The head of state also appointed the heads of the new ministries. Mammet Akmammedov was appointed Minister of Railway Transport, Begench Annadurdyev — Minister of Road Transport, and Hajymyrat Hudayguliyev — Minister of Communications. Dovran Saburov was appointed Chairman of the State Service Türkmenhowaýollary, while Azat Shanazarov was appointed Head of the State Service for Maritime and River Transport.
Mammedhan Chakiyev was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for the Transport and Communications Complex with a probationary period of six months.
