A ceremonial event dedicated to Türkiye’s Democracy and National Unity Day was held at the Turkish Cultural Center in Ashgabat. This commemorative date honors citizens of Türkiye who fought for the country’s freedom and constitutional order.
The ceremony was attended by staff of the Embassy of Türkiye in Turkmenistan, representatives of both countries, and media outlets.
Following the official part of the event, an exhibition of documentary photographs depicting the tragic events of July 15, 2016, was opened.
In October 2016, on the initiative of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, July 15 was officially declared Democracy and National Unity Day and has since been celebrated annually as a symbol of the resilience and solidarity of the people of Türkiye.
