The Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States has issued a reminder for Turkmen citizens residing permanently or temporarily in the U.S. to strictly comply with all laws and regulations, including U.S. immigration rules.
The Embassy emphasized that all Turkmen citizens must monitor the validity of their visas and residence permits, renew them before they expire if they plan to stay longer, and obtain work permits or other necessary documents in line with U.S. immigration law.
Failure to comply may lead to serious consequences such as fines, deportation with a re-entry ban, loss of eligibility for future visas, or detention and other penalties by U.S. immigration authorities, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the U.S.
To avoid such issues, the Embassy urges citizens to resolve visa and work permit matters on time. The Embassy also reminds citizens of the importance of registering with the consular section, which confirms legal residence abroad, simplifies access to consular services, provides legal and organizational support in emergencies, and allows participation in elections and other official events.
