Turkmenistan’s retail trade turnover increased by 13.1% in the January–August period of this year compared to the same period in 2024, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Economic and Financial Affairs Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported during an online Cabinet meeting held on Friday. The figures were published by the country’s official media.

According to the report, Turkmenistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.3% during the reporting period. Growth was recorded across most key sectors: industry increased by 1.5%, construction by 7%, transport and communications by 11%, trade by 9.8%, agriculture by 4.9%, and services by 8.4%.

The revenue side of the State Budget for January–August was executed at 100%, while expenditures were fulfilled at 97.4%.

Geldimyradov also noted that the average monthly salary at large and medium-sized enterprises rose by 11.9% year-on-year.

Capital investment from all sources of financing increased by 10.8% during the same period.

The Cabinet reviewed the overall economic performance and key indicators for the first eight months of the year at the meeting.
